Meet Dr. John Peacock
Dr. John Peacock is a native of Macon, Ga. where he graduated from Lanier High School before attending North Georgia College and earning a BS in Biology. He graduated from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1973. Upon graduation spent two years doing dentistry in the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Ca, before returning to Georgia and setting up practice in Woodstock in December 1975.
An active member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock since 1975, Dr. Peacock has served in many capacities such as Deacon, Chairman of Pulpit Committee, Trustee, and taught Sunday School in the youth department 3-4 years and now has taught an adult class for the last 30 years. Service to the community included serving on the Woodstock Library and then Cherokee County Library Boards during the expansion from 1 to 4 libraries in the county.
Dr. Peacock is on the board and serves on the Georgia Baptist Mobile Health Ministry. A mobile dental clinic that serves underserved populations of Georgia related to their dental health needs. Participating in several local and foreign medical/dental projects has occupied much of his time out of the office.
A member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Cherokee County Study Club, Dr. Peacock has endeavored to stay abreast of the rapidly changing faces of dental technology like root canals, dental materials, cosmetic, and implant dentistry.
“My hobbies include traveling, golf, fishing, and hunting, but the real calling in my life is to my wife, children and now those precious grandchildren. (We have six under 4 and one on the way as of this writing). The only higher calling for me is serving my Savior, Jesus Christ, through whatever gifts He has entrusted to me. Thank you, Woodstock, for allowing me to serve many of you with your dental health needs for the last 34 years. I look forward to being available to continue that service for several more years as the Lord blesses me with health to do so”.
Meet Dr. Damon Bond DMD
Dr. Damon Bond joined Woodstock Smiles in December of 2008, bringing with him a trusted, local tradition of gentle and compassionate dentistry. A native Atlantan, born in Lawrenceville, Ga., he currently resides in Roswell with his wife and two young daughters.
After majoring in Biology at Georgia Southern University, Dr. Bond went on to earn his DMD from the Medical College of Georgia in 2000, graduating as the youngest licensed dentist in the state at the time. He then went on to serve as a dentist in the US Navy, serving proudly with the Marines at MCRD Parris Island. While in the service Dr. Bond had the opportunity to participate in the largest Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in the country, further honing his skills and gaining valuable mentorship from a variety of dental specialists. Dr. Bond maintains membership in the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Cherokee Study Club.
Upon returning to Atlanta to begin private practice, Dr. Bond has worked in and owned different practices of all shapes and sizes, allowing him the experience necessary to provide the exceptional care our patients deserve. Dr. Bond takes considerable hours of continuing education each year to stay up to date on the latest technology and materials for his patients. Areas he is particularly interested in include adult orthodontics via Invisalign® and traditional braces, dental implants, and cosmetic smile enhancement.
When not at work, Dr. Bond maintains a very active family life which includes entertaining friends, travel, and family sports.
“I am so excited to be partnering with such a great group of dental professionals! My practice philosophy of “treat each person as if they are a family member” will fit perfectly with the standards of excellence you are used to receiving at Woodstock Smiles. When not busy with dentistry or family, I can be found either in front of an action movie or out on a golf course.”
